Running through stuff you said to someone and how you might have upset them (but in the light of day, there’s little or no evidence of this)
Thinking about a presentation you haven’t prepared for (even though it’s in a month’s time)
Something you did or didn’t do ten years ago
That you’re a rubbish friend / partner / parent
The range is broad from very inconsequential to more serious worries but in the middle of the night, in the darkness, they are all as important and doom filled and you feel so awake you then start worrying about the fact you’re not getting enough sleep.
Trust is the invisible ingredient that creates stronger relationships. At work, it’s the foundation of effective teamwork. Without trust, people are less collaborative, less open, less prepared to commit to the team and others. Think about someone you don’t trust and consider how you might behave. You may be more guarded, less generous, less likely to respond positively and be receptive to requests for help.

In my work, I often am asked to facilitate conversations between people who disagree or are finding it hard to get on. This can have a negative impact on the wider team and organisation and reacting quickly, getting the people together helps reduce this.
These days, it has become more difficult than ever to disagree with someone. Many fear causing offence and worry about cancel culture. I read a lot about this subject and here are some of my thoughts on disagreement.

How to deal with someone trying to wind you up
We’ve all experienced this. Someone in our lives, be it family, colleagues or friends even, who just seems to know which buttons to push.
It feels like they derive joy from seeing you get wound up. That smirk on their face! They know exactly what they’re doing.
